A passion for coaching
and a fascination for the teaching potential of new technology led
former Wallaby, high school teacher and specialist backline skills
coach Barry Honan to launch DigiSport International in 1997.
Together with his then business partner David Ellis, a New Zealander
who shared Honan’s love of coaching and rugby, the pair spent
over 12 months producing the ground-breaking DigiRugby.
DigiRugby drew on the huge collection of computer inputs, videos,
and other data the pair had previously developed separately, as
well as the expertise of the best coaching talent of several leading
rugby nations.
Since then Honan has extended the successful formula of assembling
the finest coaching expertise in a particular sporting field, distilling
the essence of their combined experience and knowledge, and using
the latest technology to enable the essential
|
elements of their success
to be easily shared by coaches and players around the world.
DigiCricket (a massive undertaking), DigiLeague and DigiNetball
are other high quality multimedia sports knowledge products that
assemble the best of the best at an affordable price, while the
fast growing sport of Beach Volleyball is also now part of the DigiSport
stable.
As well, the
DigiSport product range includes several rugby coaching videos that
simply, clearly and easily demonstrate to players and coaches alike
the essential skills of “the game they play in heaven”.
Before his injury cut short his playing
career, Barry Honan played 10 test matches for Australia in Rugby
Union, touring four countries.
